Beginning Band![]() Beginning Band Information:
3rd Quarter: Beginning band students are currently working on developing breath support, embouchure strength, note and rhythm reading as well as good tone production. Advanced Band![]() Advanced Band Information:
3rd Quarter: The Advanced band is learning the concert Ab, Eb and F major scales (woodwinds 2 octaves). Students are required to play them correctly in quarter notes at a metronome marking of 120. Students are also working in the band method book and spring concert music. 2016 Solo and Ensemble Festival
The Howard County Solo and Ensemble Festival is Saturday, April 9 at Ellicott Mills Middle School.
Solo and Ensemble is a great opportunity for students to prepare musical selections and perform for a judge. After the performance, the judge will have five minutes to offer comments and suggestions
to help improve the musical skills of the young musician.
Students who registered to participate will receive specific performance time(s)
and room assignment(s) 1 -2 weeks prior to the performance.
Registration forms are due to Mr. Bowman by Wednesday, February 10.
