Beginning BandBeginning Band Information:
2nd Quarter: Beginning band students are currently working on developing breath support, embouchure strength, note and rhythm reading as well as good tone production. This quarter, the students will be tested on the following selections from our band book: Jingle Bells, Song #19 Good King Wenceslas, #23 Dreydl #25 Shoo Fly #30 Bile Them Cabbage Down #34 Surprise Symphony #35 Concert Music: All concert selections should be tested and successfully completed at an A or B grade level by Friday, December 8. Students are allowed to retake the tests as many times as needed to be successful. Beginning Band The Winter Concert is Thursday, December 14 at 7:00 PM Performers need to be at school at 6:30 PM dressed in black/white concert uniform. See you there! |
Advanced BandAdvanced Band Information:
2nd Quarter: Advanced band is learning the chromatic scale. Students are required to play it correctly in quarter notes at a metronome marking of 120 from low concert Bb to high concert Bb in one octave. Students are also working on Winter Concert music and should prepare playing tests on the following: Chromatic Scale 1. Polly Wolly Doodle, Song #71 2. Opposite Directions, Song #75 Concert Music: March Grandiose (Listening Example - Click Here) Winter Wonderland (Listening Example - Click Here) Gentle Winds (Listening Example - Click Here) Sleigh Ride (Listening Example - Click Here) All concert selections should be tested and successfully completed at an A or B grade level by Friday, December 8.
