About Mr. Bowman
I am proud to say that this will be my 20th year at Gorman Crossing Elementary School and my 33rd year of teaching. Prior to coming to GCES, I was the band teacher at Triadelphia Ridge Elementary, Hammond High School, Laurel High School, Eisenhower Middle School, Laurel Elementary, Deerfield Run Elementary, James Harrison Elementary and Southern Middle School.
I received my Bachelor's degree in Music Education from West Virginia University and I am a true Mountaineer fan! I earned my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College). I love to spend time with my friends and family. My mother and father both loved music and played instruments for enjoyment but not as a career. My brother however, is a gifted piano player and music director/conductor on Broadway in New York City. Almost every weekend during the school year and all summer long, I spend my time at the beach. Nothing is more calming to me than listening to music and watching the ocean. I first started my musical journey when I was in 4th grade. I decided to play the trumpet after being inspired by the great Louis Armstrong. I love playing the trumpet but my real passion is teaching all of the instruments to our wonderful students at Gorman Crossing. I am looking forward to another great year at GCES! Go Gators!
